The aim of this zine collective is to explore what it is to experience the world and live as an Asian youth. It’s a personal reflection of the lives and stories of the people who contribute to each collection, and each collection surrounds a theme that hopes to reveal more parts to the Asian identity than there is to know on the surface. While we are a community, and each collection is united by a theme, there is meant to be individuality within each issue. We hope that with such variety, at least one part of the Fundamentaal Zine Collective speaks to you and to the pan-Asian experience.

SENSES COLLECTION
With collection 02’s theme, “senses,” we will explore the five human senses as they pertain to our experiences as Asian youth. What touches do we remember, what sights have we seen, what sounds have we heard, what smells are we nostalgic for, what tastes do we recognize? These are the types of questions that we will ask ourselves in exploring how we fundamentally live our lives as Asian youth.
ELEMENTS COLLECTION
The first collection of the Fundamentaal Zine Collective was published on January 5th, with the theme being “Elements.” Our zine staffers got to explore how the elements (air, earth, fire, water) were prevalent in their cultures and in their everyday lives. We hope you enjoy looking through this first collection - much love and work was put into it.
